 1 vacancy - Washington, DC The Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS) is the primary regulator of savings associations and savings association holding companies. The OTS is an Office of the U.S. Department of the Treasury and has five regional offices located in Jersey City, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas and San Francisco.
As an IT Specialist (Software Engineer), you are responsible for contributing to the development and evolution of OTS financial data and reporting systems through the implementation of SAS software applications.

Major Duties



Supporting or leading project planning efforts and the requirements management process.

Creating and collaborating on the production of software designs and models.

Writing software logic using appropriate programming languages.

Writing and executing test plans and assisting users with testing applications.

Contributing to or leading the evolution and maintenance of production systems.

Answering technical questions about software and addressing customers’ needs.

Required Skills

Qualifications

Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience representative of the next lower grade level in the career ladder, i.e., TG-16 in the OTS classification system or GS-11 in the federal classification system or a comparable level of complexity in an ungraded position in the federal or private sector.  Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position.

For this position, specialized experience includes project planning, requirements management, software design, testing applications, deployment and systems maintenance as well as experience that demonstrates an extensive use of SAS in the development of applications.  Experience that includes the application of SAS in a financial environment and that requires knowledge of finance or statistics is highly desirable.

There is no substitution of education for experience at this grade level.
You must be a U.S. citizen to qualify for this position.

Salary Range:  66,819.00 - 121,680.00 USD per year
