Job Listing: Designers with CAD or Pro-E
The positions available provide CAD design, layout, and drawing support to new product development and standard product support engineering activities. These positions require a high level of dedication and teamwork.
Duties may include:
Provide conceptual designs of new products in cooperation with a design team consisting of engineers, other designers and lab technicians.
Produce CAD conceptual designs layout and detail drawings of new products.
Revise and redraw, as required, production drawings of existing standard products. These drawings maybe manual or CAD.
Use and apply design and drafting standards, including geometric tolerancing, and provide guidance to design technicians in same.
Perform engineering calculations as required to provide sound designs.
Work with team members and required business units to produce designed products.
Required Skills
Aptitude for CAD design and drafting.
High school graduate.
Two-year technical degree or equivalent
Thorough knowledge of mechanical design drafting practices.
Three to five years experience in drafting including two years at design drafting level.
Demonstrated ability to perform basic design calculations(example thread strength, press fits, cylinder stress, etc.).
Demonstrated ability to do conceptual designs.
Capable of using and applying design and drafting standards.
Thorough knowledge of relevant manufacturing processes.
Thorough knowledge of use and application of geometric tolerancing.
Desirable Qualifications:
Training and experience on PRO-Engineer CAD Software.
Experience in design of fluid handling products.
Desire and willingness to gain further education in design and engineering.
