Job Listing: Mechanical Designer/Unigraphics
Requiring candidate to have experience with >> UGNX4 design and drafting of aerospace (gas turbine engine) components
Design gas turbine test cell mechanical systems, ducts, adapters, engine run stands and other test fixtures as required in support of development test engineers.
Design mechanical structures to mount aircraft tailcone test articles and provide related fixture design.
Design various equipment for test rigs such as fuel pump drives, starter generator stands, air turbine starter load rigs, fuel/oil heating and chilling systems, etc.
Perform basic structural analysis and rotor dynamics analysis of test fixtures as required to ensure safe and reliable operation.
Be proficient with Unigraphics version 18 3D modeling tool.
Liaison with engineering specialists when necessary to reduce design risk.
Coordinate manufacture of test fixtures with outside suppliers.
Perform basic analysis as required to ensure safe and reliable operation of mechanical systems.
Be proficient with Unigraphics for modeling and drafting mechanical systems.
Required Skills
Have at least 2 years experience in related design engineering field.
Possess a working understanding, including actual experience with the following:
Compressed air and hydraulic actuation systems, ANSI flanges and related piping, welding standards, light sheet metal forming and ductwork design & fabrication, structural steel framework design, selection of electric motors, high speed couplings shafts, spline design, bearings, heat exchangers, and instrumentation (pressure, temperature, speed, strain, and vibration).
Required Education: BS Mechanical Engineering preferred
