WHAT OTHER DOCUMENTS ARE REQUIRED?
1. If this vacancy announcement has a basic education requirement, you must submit a copy of your college transcripts that list college courses, detailing each course by the number and department (i.e., BIO101, MATH 210, etc.). This information should include course title, school name/location, date completed, grade, and number of credits earned. Failure to do so will result in an ineligible rating. You must submit evidence that any education completed in a foreign institution is equivalent to U.S. education standards with your resume. 2. The United States District Court for the District of Columbia, in a decree approved in a lawsuit entitled Luevano v. Lachance, Civil Action no. 79-0271, has ordered that Federal Government agencies provide data on the race and national origin of applicants for certain Federal occupations. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE AT THE GS-7 LEVEL: Experience must be directly related to the position being filled and equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least one year in the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. One full-time year (12 months) of specialized work experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to at least a GS-5 in the Federal service that demonstrates basic knowledge of loan examining and/or servicing principles, procedures and techniques as they apply to investigation, analysis, and evaluation of financial factors and credit risks in relation to granting and servicing of agricultural loans. Experience may have been gained in such work as assisting in reviewing and passing upon applications for agricultural loans; servicing an agricultural loan portfolio of a bank or other loan association; or similar work. In addition, this experience must demonstrate basic knowledge of farm operations, land use and value, production of various crops and livestock, and prices and markets in the farming area where loans are made and serviced.
EDUCATION SUBSTITUTION:
AT THE GS-7 LEVEL: One year of graduate study in finance, business administration, economics, accounting, engineering, mathematics, banking and credit, law, statistics, or other fields related to the position, such as agriculture, agricultural economics, farm, livestock or ranch management or rural sociology.
ALTERNATE PROVISION:
Superior Academic Achievement (SAA) at the baccalaureate level in the coursework detailed above under Education Substitution is fully qualifying. Applicants who wish to apply under this provision must submit proof from their educational institution that they meet one of the criteria listed below. To qualify for SAA, applicants must have completed all the requirements for a bachelor's degree and meet one of the following:
1. A grade-point average of "B" (a GPA of 2.95 or higher out of a possible 4.0) for all completed undergraduate courses, or those completed in the last two years of undergraduate study.
2. A grade-point average of "B+" (a GPA of 3.45 or higher out of a possible 4.0) for all courses in your major field of study, or those courses in your major completed in the last two years of undergraduate study.
3. Rank in the upper one-third of your class in the college, university or major subdivision.
4. Membership in a national honor society (other than freshman honor societies) recognized by the Association of College Honor Societies.
