Job Listing: CRM Support Engineer
Primary means of communication is written (through eSupport). Phone support is also used, but less frequently.
To resolve issues you may need to:
• Refer to information upon which you were trained, study resource materials you were given
• Search available documentation and databases for resolutions of similar previous issues
• Create a test environment to recreate a setup similar to the customer’s , troubleshoot and find solutions to the problem, then professionally communicate the resolution to the customer
• Work with team members to gather further knowledge or ideas based upon experience
• Identify questions to ask the customer/partner to gather further information needed to resolve the issues
There may be times when you will need to conduct a desktop streaming session in order to directly investigate the customer’s environment.
After a few months of taking cases you may need to write technical knowledgebase (KB) articles related to the application you are supporting – technical and KB writing training is provided.
Multitasking and time management are key - responding to cases, using test environment to recreate issues, watching the incoming queue for new cases and for responses to ongoing cases.
Required Skills
Four-year degree in MIS, CIS, or related equivalent work experience around technical applications such as SQL, Exchange, IIS, Small Business Server, Active Directory, Operating Systems, networking, or other Microsoft technologies. (minimum of 2 areas of expertise if using equivalent work experience)
General CRM knowledge helpful
Working knowledge of Operating Systems (i.e. Windows 2000, XP) and databases (i.e. SQL, Oracle)
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
Ability to learn quickly, apply knowledge, strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Customer service training and or experience
Strong communication skills - spoken and written
Passion for technology
Flexibility, Adaptable to change, Willing to work multiple shifts
Teamwork oriented approach to solving problems and providing service
Multi-tasking ability
Comfortable asking questions
Technical Support experience is a plus
