Job Listing: Director of State Legislative Affairs

Responsible for the development, implementation and coordination of all state legislative programs and practices including monitoring legislation, developing legislative strategy, coordination with state association management, key contact programs, training, and compliance.

·Work as a strategic partner with senior management team to shape public policy and accomplish business goals of the organization.
·Oversee all state legislative government affairs activity.
·Provide guidance and support at all management levels to ensure consistent and sound state government management.
·Monitor state legislative activities affecting the company and the industry.
·Draft, analyze and/or present legislation, amendments and testimony as necessary.
·Develop and maintain relationships with government representatives, at the federal and state level.
·Manage communications and policy issues concerning operations and policy issues to state and federal government officials.
·Perform other related duties as assigned.

*This position location is Tallahassee, FL

Required Skills

·Bachelor’s Degree in Communications or Government or related degree.
·Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible experience in all aspects of Government Affairs working with legislators and/or government agencies.
·Prior Government Affairs experience required.
·Must possess excellent organizational skills and sound verbal, written and public speaking and presentation skills.
