Position Summary:
This position is responsible for the purchasing of all non-production materials and services. In addition, this position is responsible for the purchase or leasing of other selected indirect or direct materials.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities: (Essential functions)
- Coordinate tool spend/cost reduction procedures and programs
- Maintain the tool crib master data and reorder system
- Coordinate the reclaiming of tools/dies
- Obtain bids, negotiate contracts and select appropriate vendors
for indirect supplies/services
- Maintain adequate supplies to support manufacturing
- Purge obsolete data/tools/supplies from system
- Purchase and schedule all non-production materials, supplies,
and services required by the facility
- Issuance of all MRO purchase orders in compliance to all legal,
OSHA/MIOSHA and Hazmat requirements
- Develop, implement and coordinate cost reduction and
consignment strategies for MRO purchases
Additional Responsibilities:
- Maintain SAP system as it relates to tool crib data and purchases
- Assist with physical inventory and cycle counts of tool crib, as
required
- Coordinate purchase and cost reduction programs with Chassis
Purchasing
- Track and issue cost reduction reports as required
- Ensure tool crib activities comply with quality management
system requirements
- Assist with negotiation and purchase order issuance for capital
purchases as required
- Periodic travel to suppliers, regional meetings, etc.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or
related field is required
- 3-5 years related experience in Purchasing and Scheduling
- CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager) Certification is preferred
- A high degree of proficiency with MS Suite of products and solid
keyboarding skills
- SAP skill set in WM/IM modules
- Excellent verbal, written, and problem solving skills
- Six Sigma Green Belt status preferred
