Senior Mechanical Engineer/Product Designer

DUTIES:

Research and develop small, low power microelectronic products.

Responsible for product design from concept development through final implementation and production lifecycle support. research, develop design, and test mechanical parts, components and assemblies need for prototypes and final products.

Work includes the design, conceptualization, layout (through use of computer aided design tools or manual techniques), tooling, prototype development, testing and evaluation of product packaging, mechanical and/or electro-mechanical devices or systems.

Conduct feasibility studies, determine manpower and cost estimates, and develop engineering criteria. Perform analyses to develop design options or recommendations for structures, systems and components.

SKILL AND EXPERIENCE:

BS degree in Mechanical Engineering plus 7-10 years experience.
Strong experience with SolidWorks or Pro-E
Experience developing medical device products strongly preferred.
Experience bringing products to market also preferred.
Experience developing small, low power, microelectronic products such as small medical devices or Bluetooth headsets will be considered.
Product design experience specializing in plastic, stamped and machined metal part and tooling design, cost effective design techniques, and experience in an electromechanical manufacturing environment.
Strong mathematical, analytical and deductive reasoning skills to organize problems and identify solutions.
