Job Listing: Safety / Crash Engineer

Our client, a large automotive manufacturer, is currently seeking a Safety / Crash Engineer to work in their Troy, MI location to conduct data examination and analysis for automotive safety research using accident data.

We are only considering candidates seeking long-term positions. This is NOT a temporary position.

The Safety / Crash Engineer will be responsible for performing the following:

1.) Crash data examination and analysis using the National Automotive Sampling System (NASS), the Crash Data System (CDS), the Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS), and/or the General Estimates System (GES).
2.) Investigation of side impact collisions and airbag performance studies
3.) Conducting literature searches and summarizing your findings
4.) Coordination of interdepartmental activities and research efforts

The Safety / Crash Engineer must be familiar with the following:

1.) 3-5 Years of Experience in automotive safety research, data examination and analysis using the National Automotive Sampling System (NASS), the Crash Data System (CDS), the Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS), and/or the General Estimates System (GES);
2.) 3-5 Years of Experience in conducting research, investigations and summarizing your findings;
3.) High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult; and
3.) Candidate should possess a considerable amount of creativity and perception as a problem solver
4.) 3-5 Years of Experience in PC Crash & Modeling

All candidates should possess all qualifications to be considered for the position.

  • HIGH LEVEL OF ANALYTICAL ABILITY
  • 3-5 YEARS OF SAFETY RESEARCH USING ACCIDENT DATA EXPERIENCE
  • UNDERSTANDING OF ENGINEERING THEORY
  • COLLEGE DEGREE WITH A MAJOR IN MECHANICAL OR BIOENGINEERING WITH OCCUPANT SAFETY KNOWLE
  • DEMONSTRATED ABILITY TO WORK INDEPENDENTLY AND WITH OTHERS
