Job Listing: Manager, Business Continuity Planning
Responsibilities:
• Report to the company’s Business Continuity Management Director.
• Work with Comcast Cable business units to develop coordinated strategies for Business Continuity and Emergency Management. Serve as internal consultant, where planning assistance is needed.
• Develop internal methodologies, tools and practices to support strategy development such as risk assessments, business impact analyses and plan testing standards.
• Anticipate and identify complex business needs and recommend solutions.
• Develop firm-wide policies, procedures and standards for Business Continuity.
• Coordinate and provide oversight for the company’s risk mitigation programs for the company’s key operating and technology locations.
• Establishes testing methodologies; plans and coordinates the exercising of business resumption procedures in different functional areas.
• Responsible for crisis response plans. Provide support during plan activations and recovery. Provide incident response and recovery reports to Management. Report on repetitive occurrences, failures and trends around the company.
• Manage development and acquisition of the appropriate business continuity tools for impact assessments, emergency notifications, crisis management and plan documentation. Maintain the respective contracts and relationships with key vendors.
• Responsible for Business Coordinator and staff training and awareness programs.
• Manage the metrics reporting, and compliance reporting. Establish monthly status reports on program status, issues and initiatives.
Required Skills
Education and Experience
• Typically requires a BS Degree in Business Management or equivalent experience.
• Industry certification preferred: CDRP or MBCI.
• Typically requires 3-5 years experience in business continuity planning.
• Experience in establishing and managing projects with multiple departments/vendors. This job does have supervisory responsibility.
Knowledge and Skills
• Working knowledge of all areas of the organization and the ability to develop a clear understanding of the company’s key functional processes and resources.
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of current business continuity techniques and technologies.
• Administrative experience in Strohl Systems tools such as LDRPS, NotiFind and BIA.
• Strong human relations skills to interface with managers and staff at all levels within the organization. Good oral communication and written communication skills.
