A Pathology Lab in Dallas is looking for a Logistics Manager. A position description is listed below.
Position Objective:
Coordinates the routes, employees and equipment necessary to pickup specimens from CPL and client facilities daily in the DFW region.
Basic Duties
- Routes
Plans, modifies and updates routes daily as needed to ensure that CPL resources are used efficiently and effectively to respond to client and CPL needs
Must be able to manage electronic data to coordinate mapping software to optimize routes
Must be flexible to add/modify/delete pickups on routes to meet client needs
Must be familiar with the DFW geography and know the routes/drivers from memory
Must always have a copy of the routes on their person after hours if a question arises about a route and how to address a problem.
- Performance
Must meet our Service Indicator Metrics for Missed Pickup statistics
Must prepare and deliver timely and effective feedback to couriers as needed related to their performance
Must respond to problems by addressing systemic issues timely and performing training/re-training as needed to eliminate problems.
- Closing Procedure
This position will ensure that a nightly completion report will be prepared and delivered to the day management team noting
A summary of zero specimens from daily pickup accounts
Problem routes that were late
Completion times for all routes and verification of specimen counts
Any employee-related problems (no-shows, performance, etc)
Hires for all open positions in the courier department
Requirements
-Experience as a logistics/courier supervisor or team lead for 3 years.
-Prior laboratory experience is preferred
-Excellent communication skills are required including verbal, electronic capability via email and Microsoft office products.
-The ability to multi-task and interact timely with different individuals on different projects is a key to success.
Shift: M-F 8-5
Pay: 65-72 per year based on resume, experience, and interview
