Job Listing: Lead Firmware Engineer

A Leading Provider of broadband communications and storage semiconductors is looking for an experienced Lead Firmware Engineer to join their Product Development team developing cutting-edge solutions to a global customer base. This worldwide, world-class leader is publicly traded on the NASDAQ Stock Market and is included in the S&P 500 Index.

The Lead Firmware Engineer is responsible for the development of new and exciting real-time firmware for state-of-the-art System-on-Chip (SoC) devices with embedded MIPS processors.

This Lead Firmware Engineer will lead small teams in the planning, design, implementation, verification and tracking of firmware components. This Engineer will also lead a small team of firmware engineers to conceive, design and implement storage software/firmware products for their respective markets.

This individual will participate in the full development from specification of features and architecture, to design, development, integration, debugging, and verification of embedded firmware.

This Lead Firmware Engineer will need to have the following background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
- Minimum 8 years engineering experience of software/firmware system development for real-time embedded systems
- 3+ years of experience in a technical leadership role
- Good working knowledge of the activities required in the full product development cycle
- Firmware Design and Implementation
- Strong Embedded design experience
- Proficiency in programming in C and Assembly for embedded devices
- Knowledge of RTOS constructs including processes, threads, memory management, etc.
