Job Listing: Data Architect
Volt is seeking a Data Warehouse Architect to work in the beautiful hill country area in South Austin.
Responsibilities:
- Produce data governance, data integration, and data quality solution for information analysis. The individual provides data analytics, data models, and data exchange packages for the visualization, movement and storage of information for a community of interest. Included is producing specification, prototypes, physical storage design with supporting metadata references, distribution and navigation and visualization capabilities for information concepts.
- Produce detail specifications for a pricing analytics solution. These standards and design specifications will be used by application designers, network engineers, Database Administrators and Web designers to drive detailed designs for the proposed pricing solution.
- Business Process Design - carefully consider business processes as part of the design process. Business process design will include the identification and compilation of process steps, business rules, roles, message flows, high-level data objects, sequence and other attributes that describe the target solution from a business perspective
- The Data Architect must understand and design logical and physical modeling with both relational and non-relational frameworks, user and system component application design, Internet technologies, database and data warehouse design, network design, and the many other aspects of information technology at a thorough, cross disciplinary level.
- The Data Architect support data integration, data quality and transformation, data movement and storage techniques by using traditional methodologies as well as using advanced web-based technologies such as data ontology models, semantic vocabulary, and Relational and non-Relational data stores.

Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience as a data architect; data warehousing design; web services
- 3+ years of XML schema design; ETL
- Proficient in logical data modeling and physical database design
- Solid enterprise data management experience and knowledge
- Excellent verbal and written—communication skills
- BA or BS degree in IT/Computer from accredited university required
