Job Listing: Algorithm Development/Transition Engineer

MTSI is seeking an Algorithm Development/Transition Engineer to serve as the primary support to the Transition Manager and/or the Integration Engineer, acting as interface between the Hercules Directorate (Program Office) and the various project and development teams. Major Duties and Responsibilities: Provide scientific and technical support by rendering expert opinions, analyses, and recommendations on radar algorithms for tracking, discrimination, and imaging of boost, post-boost, and midcourse target complexes, and algorithms to defeat countermeasures and off-nominal threat complex deployments. Additional subject areas include fusion of radar, ladar, and electro-optical data for increased situational awareness and probability of successful target discrimination; processing control and dynamic hypothesis management algorithms using Bayesian networks and other tools to develop multi-sensor discrimination algorithms for distributed sensor fusion; optimization; feature extraction; and likelihood estimation algorithms. Candidate will be responsible for detailed daily interactions and monitoring of multiple algorithm development programs technical and schedule progress. The candidate will work in a complex and dynamic team environment, often responsible to numerous individuals for multiple topics. Travel is required.

Required Skills

Required Skills:
• 10 + years general experience, and 5+ years experience with algorithm development, sensor and weapon systems, or technology development programs, preferably related to the Department of Defense.
• Overall understanding of sensor systems and the Ballistic Missile Defense System.


Educational Requirements:
• PhD or MS in Engineering or Science.

Clearance Requirements:
• Secret clearance
