Job Listing: Network Administrator

TEKsystems is currently looking for a Network Administrator to work for our client, a leader in their respective industry.

The Network Administrator performs day-to-day IT Network Administrator activities for the server, desktop, LAN, and telecommunications environment supporting both unclassified and classified computer systems.

MAJOR DUTIES:

-Perform routine maintenance and operational support for network servers including monitoring for performance and security, maintaining software patch levels, and troubleshooting system outages.

-Manage user accounts, passwords, and configurations associated with network server operating systems.

-Install, maintain, and modify desktop and server software including operating systems in support of customer requirements.

-Install and maintain LAN components including routers, switches, hub, firewalls, etc.

JOB EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

-Microsoft Server platforms including Windows NT and 2000, Exchange, SQL Server

-Extensive experience with Blackberry Enterprise Server 4.1 in a Windows/Exchange 2003 environment, as well as supporting users equipped with Blackberry devices.

-Wintel Server Hardware, HP/Compaq preferred

-Cisco Network equipment including routers, switches, and firewalls.

-Back up and recovery software and best practices

-Sun Microsystems Solaris operating systems and hardware

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

-Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Management or related field.

-Five years experience with server and network installation, maintenance, and operations or equivalent combination of education and experience

-Currently possess a DOE "Q" security clearance or can qualify to receive a clearance.
