Job Listing: CAD Technician

TEKsystems is searching for qualified CAD professionals to support a large, National telecommunications client. The candidates will be responsible for drafting fiber optic cable distribution layouts for FTTP (Fiber To The Premise)projects.

The individuals will utilize Microstation (Version 8) to pull existing posting maps and lot location maps from the main server. They will also need to post hubs, splitters, cable layouts (with cable information), terminals layouts (with terminal information), and shadow duct layouts to the main server. The position involves cutting work print shapes; removing unnecessary information; realigning cables, terminals, and shadow duct plant with lot locations. Additionally, they will need to add flower pots, plant footage notes, plant to center line dimensions, construction notes, creating hub details, and any other necessary information. Once complete, the technician will price work orders with a unicoding system. Candidates need to flexible to take on additional responsibilities as needed.

Qualified candidates will need experience with Microstation or AutoCAD and should have a year of practical or academic background with CAD, Engineering Technology, or Information Technology. Must be able to provide great attention to detail while working in a fast paced engineering environment.
