Job Listing: Asbestos Inspector

National geotechnical, environmental and materials engineering firm seeks to make an immediate addition to the Reno office of an Asbestos Inspector.

The Site Surveillance Technician will be certified in the Nevada and/or California and will have some field experience.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Conducting or assisting in performing preparatory initial inspections of abatement projects; conducting follow-up in progress inspections to ensure compliance with applicable regulations; conducting or assisting in final inspections upon completion to ensure all friable asbestos has been removed.

Inspecting and testing equipment and machinery including carbon monoxide equipment, temporary electrical setups, ventilation systems, plumbing, noise and other conditions affecting employees and public health; collecting samples of bulk and dusting to assess potential asbestos hazards.

Preparing various reports regarding consultations, inspections in progress, visual, final and work documentation; reviewing closing documents for billing of contractor and checking for violations of regulations.

Maintaining files and records relating to the asbestos operation; reviews plans for the maintenance, repair and handling of asbestos containing materials; consulting with private and public entities regarding maintenance, repair and handling of asbestos containing materials.
