Job Listing: Senior Network Engineer

One of TEKsystems largest government has an immediate need for a Senior level Network Engineer with a project management background.

Basic Qualifications: Must have five (5) years experience in all aspects of computer networks. Must have two (2) years experience managing technical projects / leading technical teams. Knowledge of communication protocols and devices such as bridges, routers and gateways is a must. General experience includes all aspects of networks planning, installation, monitoring, and support and demonstrated ability to supervise, plan and lead technical teams in multiple, complex tasks/assignments involving disciplines including analysis, decision support, written and oral communications commensurate with management role.

Functional Responsibilities:
- Conduct data analysis and security review of solutions to migrate applications and systems to Navy enterprise enclaves, or to decommission Navy legacy networks.
- Determine a proposed solution for Navy legacy applications. Determine appropriate end state architecture (elimination, enterprise migration, consolidation, RDT&E)
- Inform and advise site representatives, Central Design Authorities and Program Managers on the process by which legacy systems are transitioned to Navy enterprise enclaves.
- Recommend a technical solution for enterprise review to facilitate enterprise wide solutions.
- Ensure disposition of systems/applications/networks is properly documented.
- Ensure the end-state posture of enterprise networks is not significantly diminished due to the introduction of legacy applications/legacy systems.
- Provide quality-engineering consulting for the development of technical processes, procedures, and solutions to problems preventing the successful transition of legacy systems to enterprise enclaves.
- Provide management, planning, and engineering services in support of the reduction of legacy networks.
- Supervise other network engineers.
- Manage workload, workflow and prioritization of other network engineers in engineering solution development.
- Provide overall technical direction for development of solutions/architectures as they apply to elimination of legacy networks and transition.
- Perform effective management of transition support requirements.
- Ensure all engineering actions are tracked to completion.

- Has an understanding of router protocols, ACL’s, DMZ’s, subnetting, layer 1-3 devices, UTNPP, accreditation boundaries and they are represented in a diagram
- Basic understanding of DITSCAP, DIACAP
- Familiar with NMCI procedures and policies

- SAN experience
- CCNA or CCNP certification
