Job Listing: Software Development Architect

Aerotek CE is currently looking for an Architect of Storage Development for a large company located in Minnesota.

As the Architect of Storage Software Development, you will join a team of professionals in defining/architecting and designing exciting Storage Software Solutions spanning real-time firmware for state-of-art System-on-Chip (SoC) devices all the way to host based Storage Management Applications.


Responsibilities:

-- Specification of features and architecture of storage components for new products
-- Technically lead small teams in planning, design, and prototyping of both host software and embedded firmware components
-- Participate in design and code reviews of implementations
-- Consult for troubleshooting and resolving complex software problems in storage systems.
-- Analyze firmware and system performance (frame rates, cycle counts, cache utilization, IO throughput etc) and architect improvements
-- Present technical designs to small teams of engineers and technical marketing personnel
-- Work with customers from the early product definition phase on for defining new products and optimizing them for customer needs.
-- Assist Marketing and Sales in winning business


Qualifications:

-- BSEE or BS Computer Science/Math with emphasis in storage processing
-- 10+ of software/firmware system development for real-time streaming media systems, or demonstrated comparable experience
-- 3+ years in a technical leadership position with architecture design responsibility
-- Detailed working knowledge of software and/or firmware design and implementation
-- Demonstrated ability to successfully conceive, design, implement and document complex storage systems
-- Proficient programmer in C and assembly preferably for embedded devices
-- Effective communicator (verbal and written) of technical ideas and designs
-- Willingness to set and meet deadlines
-- Highly motivated, sets personal goals, and achieves goals without supervision
-- Demonstrated ability to complete software product development (through commercial release)


Desirable Qualifications

-- Experience in storage protocol development such as SCSI, Fiber-Channel, SAS/SATA, RAID and/or enclosure management
-- Experience with RAID/HBA and SAS/SATA/SCSI architectures
-- Have implemented RAID protection algorithms
-- Knowledge of OS driver architectures in Windows/Linux
-- Knowledge of RTOS constructs including processes, threads, scheduling, synchronization mechanisms, memory management
