About the Position: The workforce of Dugway Proving Ground (DPG) is made up of varied professionals in the challenges of chemical and biological defense testing and counter terrorism and consequence management for the civilian sector. The majority of the workforce is on a 40 hour workweek from Monday thru Thursday leaving themselves a consistent 3 day weekend. DPG is physically remote, but entirely self-sufficient as regards housing and community needs. Nevertheless, many of its workforce choose to commute from outside communities. There are commuter vans that employees join and are subsidized by the Government ($100 a month). This subsidy is offered in addition to the remote site pay given to employees that commute over 50 miles one way to work and work in the remote test areas of Ditto, Carr, Baker, etc. Salt Lake City is only a short 1 1/2 hour drive and the beauty of Moab, Zions National Park and Lake Powell are also within a short days drive. Major Duties

The incumbent will receive closer supervision while serving in a training capacity for the higher level duties. Performs contract administration on a limited range of contract types, such as fixed-price or cost reimbursement, and determines method of contracting based on dollar threshold and urgency of requirements. Selects appropriate sources of supply and services based on requester's requirements. Selects appropriate contract clauses and provisions using previous contracts or orders, if available, and includes appropriate amendments.

General Schedule TARGET GRADE IS GS-9. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Examples of qualifying specialized experience include one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade applying basic procurement procedures and techniques to carry out recurring assignments involving use of the formal advertised method and negotiated procurements. The ability to apply procurement procedures, and the laws, regulations. Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act Career Field Position.This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectees must meet position requirements for certification at Level 11 in Acquisition Career Field Contracting within 24 months of entrance on duty. Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. Direct Deposit of Pay is Required. Further certification from this announcement may take place up to 90 days beyond the closing date of this announcement.You may claim Military Spouse Preference.
