TECHNICIAN VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
Location: 159th FW, New Orleans, LA
This position is located in the Repair and Reclamation Shop, Aerospace Systems Section of the Field Maintenance Branch in the Aircraft Maintenance Functional area. This position accomplishes on and off equipment maintenance on aircraft systems and components such as wheel and tire, flight control, canopies, landing gear, and performs general heavy airframe maintenance, beyond the capability of other maintenance activities.

DEFINITION OF AREA(S) OF CONSIDERATION:
Area 1 = ARNG/ANG Enlisted permanent or indefinite technicians currently employed with the Louisiana National Guard.
Area 2 = Enlisted traditional Guard or Active Guard Reserves (AGR) members currently eligible to be employed with the Louisiana National Guard.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED BY THE POSITION:
I. Knowledge of F-15 flight control, landing gear, canopy and throttle control systems.
II. Skilled in rigging and troubleshooting procedures involving flight control, landing gear and canopy systems.
III. Ability to use directives associated with these systems on the F-15 aircraft.
IV. Ability to maintain and use technical order files and associated shop equipment.
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidates will be required to be in a compatible military grade and assignment prior to the effective date of placement.
