This position is located in the Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS).  The OTS is the primary regulator of savings associations and savings association holding companies.  The OTS is an office of the U.S. Department of the Treasury and has five regional offices in Jersey City, Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, and San Francisco.



Major Duties

As an Examiner IV, your responsibilities include performing a range of activities relative to promoting safety and soundness in thrift institutions in an assigned caseload.  Responsibilities include:·  Analyzing and reaching conclusions regarding each rating area of capital adequacy, asset quality, effectiveness of management, sufficiency of earnings, adequacy of liquidity-asset/liability management and reasonableness of sensitivity to market risk of large and/or complex thrift institutions.·  Serving as Examiner in Charge (EIC) and setting examination scope, including determining resources and staffing necessary to complete the examination.·  Preparing the report of examination and supervising preparation of work papers and other documents.·  Serving as a resource and technical expert to the examination staff.·  Presenting the report of examination conclusions and required corrective actions to thrift institution management and board members.·  Performing special projects and assignments.

Qualifications

This position requires one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level, i.e., TG-18/19/20 in the OTS classification system, GS-12/13 or above in the federal classification system, or an equivalent pay band in another federal agency or the private sector and possess the selective factor noted below. 



SELECTIVE FACTOR/MANDATORY QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT for the Examiner IV position requires accreditation as a Level I or II Commissioned Thrift Examiner (CTE); Federal Thrift Regulator (FTR); or equivalent accreditation and experience from another federal or state government banking regulatory agency.
