The SQL Database Administrator will participate in all areas of the software life-cycle to ensure that production systems are engineered for high availability and operational stability. The SQL DBA will analyze and recommend operational efficiencies to the EHS Development team.
The production environment is responsible for 24x7 real-time spam filtering and email archiving for over 10,000 customers processing over 5 billion mail messages daily. The server hosting solution represents a software delivery model that removes costs and complexity for customers and allows Our Client and customers to realize economies of scale that is often not possible. This is the premier service within this Online Services Group and is modeling the future of the company's SaaS adoption. This solution is responsible for filtering spam, mail encryption, message tracing and email archiving for both corporate compliance and business continuity. This server hosted solution lives in eight data centers worldwide and utilizes over a Petabyte (PB) of mass storage.

Required Skills for this SQL Database Administrator position include the following:

5+ years of experience in Production Systems/Database Administration
Must have managed/administered multiple SQL Server 2005 databases (database size 300+GB preferred)
Advanced T-SQL skills required! Any scripting languages a plus!
Windows 2003 Server Administration experience
Deep understanding of:

Disaster Recovery Planning
Log Shipping
DB Mirroring
High Availability

Good understanding of TCP/IP and basic network troubleshooting
Familiarity with SAN/NAS infrastructure
Experience in large, production enterprises preferred
SCOM/Exchange experience a bonus
MCDBA certification or higher would be excellent, but not required
Must be able to ramp up quickly in fast-paced environment
Must be an independent and self-motivated worker
Must be technically curious, always looking for the next problem to solve!
Goal-oriented individual who wants to work smarter, not harder
Good communication skills and customer-focused
Ability to handle interruptions while fluidly switching between several projects/issues
Eager to learn, and excited about making this service better!
College degree preferred

Bonus:

Certifications: SQL, Web, MCSE, MCDBA, etc.
Previous experience with the Software Giant
