Job Listing: Server Support Technician

Accomplish assigned projects relating to team goals. Maintaining machines in a Live site setting. Setting up hardware, installing software, managing configurations, troubleshooting issues, and providing status reports. Installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining equipment. Identifying, analyzing, and repairing product failures. Ordering and replacing parts as needed. Determines and recommends which products or services best fit the customers' needs. Providing support to end users on a variety of issues. Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems. Responding to telephone calls, email and personal requests for technical support. Documenting, tracking and monitoring problems to ensure a timely resolution. Maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs computer systems, hardware and computer peripherals. Documents, maintains, upgrades or replaces hardware and software systems. Documents departmental processes on an ongoing basis.

Required Skills

1 year of experience in technical support or in a related area . Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within lab environment . Relies on minimal instruction to perform the functions of the job.

1+ year related work experience setting up computer hardware, installing/upgrading software, etc..

HVAC experience not necessary, but is a plus.

Experience with Dell and HP servers is a plus . Server imaging experience . Windows 2003 experience necessary . Network troubleshooting experience . The ability to lift and rack servers, KVM components, network gear and handling other lab equipment is necessary . Broad, general knowledge of servers, enterprise solutions, personal computers, application software, and operating systems . Solid troubleshooting skills . Strong written and verbal communication skills required . Excellent organizational and troubleshooting skills . Extreme flexibility and adaptable to change . Excellent problem solving skills . Must be strong team player and be able to work closely and consistently in a dynamic team.
