Job Listing: Shipping Coordinator
Qualified candidate will be working in Shipping Department performing a number of shipping duties with a combination of clerical functions. Candidate will be required to have proficient knowledge of MS Excel for data input. Must be a self-starter, quick learner with attention to detail. Essential duties and responsibilities included but are not limited to the following: Adhere to all company rules and regulations. Ability to identify material by part number and product finish. Ability to read work order and follow oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be shipped. Prepare trucks for loading/unloading based on type of truck and weight of material. Coordinate truck loads in accordance to loading patterns and to prevent shifting or damage to materials or products during transit. Verify materials loaded/unloaded against work order or bill of lading. Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials shipped on daily production sheet. Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers. Obtains appropriate signatures from truck drivers, verify truck drivers are compliant with company safety procedures. Cross train with the boxing department and participate in the physical inventory process.
Required Skills
- Must possess high school diploma or GED.
- Must be able to pass a 7 year Felony/Misdemeanor background and pre-employment drug screen.
- One to two years related work experience required. Prior experience using Fed Ex or UPS shipping methods.
- Must have good computer skills, proficient in MS Excel and knowledge of JDE system a plus.
- Must be self motivated/self starter and work well under minimal supervision.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with all staff. Ability to count, add, subtract and multiply simple numbers.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
- Must be flexible with work schedule and able to do overtime requirement.
