Job Listing: Solaris System Administrator

Volt Technical Resources, LLC is currently hiring a Solaris Systems Administrator to handle all aspects of installation, configuration and maintenance of operating systems. The incumbent will be responsible for over 50 UNIX servers, which support over 200 Oracle database systems.




Required Skills

BS degree in related discipline and or equivalent combination of education and experience and a minimum of 5 years experience with the Sun Solaris Operating System 8, 9 and 10 and SUN servers. Extensive experience with Veritas clustering software 4.0, Veritas Volume Manager 3.1-4.1 software and Veritas Netbackup 3.5-5.0 software. Experience with Tripwire 4.5 and SSH 4.2 a plus. Experience with SUN Storage Array’s basic installation and hardware install; ability to script in simple to complex scripts in both Bourne and Korn shell; experience leading and completing several Enterprise Level Infrastructure related projects from conception to completion (from establishment of business requirements through deliverables); ability to develop test frameworks, test strategies, test plans, test cases and test reports documents; analyze, define and implement architecture and infrastructure requirements; ability to configure, monitor, optimize, and analyze system capacity, performance, and diagnose and resolve problems; capable of installing, testing, maintaining, and upgrading hardware and software. Must possess ability to function effectively in a rapidly changing environment with little or no direct supervision. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with all levels of personnel is a must. Must be willing to carry pager and cell phone and be on-call 24-7.
