Our client has a fantastic new opportunity for a Controller, based in New York. The company has engaged us to find the best possible candidate for a very exciting opportunity which will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer.
The ideal candidate will be very experienced in developing staff, implementing changes, enforcing policies and procedures. This role will have project oriented goals focusing on complete asset management and cost control.
Successful leader will be hands-on, self-directed, quick thinker, able to analyze weekly, monthly and quarterly financial reports. The position will maintain effective communication with departments, management and will manage the accounting department's internal controls, staff development, and cost containment.
Work closely with controllers to identify and resolve audit issues. The role will also evaluate and recommend improvements to all accounting processes, IT systems and all controls.
Managing responsibility over senior level staff salary, performance reviews, personnel hires, promotions and salary increases. Review variances and anomalies in monthly reports (example summary of operations, P&L reports, accounts receivable and inventory) with divisional controllers.

Required Skills
Candidates must possess 7+ years of combined Public and Private experience from the business services industry.
CPA is required ( MBA is strongly preferred )
Management experience, with a total of 7+ years of strong
leadership experience within the Finance Industry.
Must have excellent leadership skills with the desire to mentor and build accounting staff.
Proven abilities to make recommendations and present to management.
Mist have extensive experience with staff development, cost containment, SOX 404 and controls.
