Job Listing: Food Scientist - Dairy Ingredients

A major dairy manufacturing facility in Twin Falls, Idaho has an opening for a Research Food Scientist.

Responsibilities:
- Develop new functional food ingredients and test food properties for texture, viscosity, water binding, heat stability, emulsification etc.
- Write reports on test results
- Work with customers on development issues
- Test new products for flavor, texture, color, nutritional content, and adherence to government and industry standards
- Work with process engineers, flavor experts, and marketing specialists to resolve issues in product development
- Study methods to improve aspects of foods such as chemical composition, flavor, color, texture, nutritional value, and convenience
- Study the structure and composition of food, or the changes foods undergo in storage and processing

Required Skills:
- M.S. Degree required, with 5 years research experience or Ph.D. with 2 years research experience
- Ability to work as a member of a development team; good communication skills, and leadership skills required
- Ability to work in a market driven environment and to prioritize research based on developing markets
- Statistical analysis of data, strong microbiological and chemical background
- Expertise in functional food ingredients
