Branch Manager Trainee

Job description:
The ability to sell and service pneumatic tools, nails, staples and accessories primarily to the construction based walk-in clientele and telephone calls from customers.

Will be accountable for inventory control, inventory ordering, store and warehouse appearance, displays, daily cash close outs, daily deposits and reports to home office.

The ability to perform maintenance and repair of all tools and equipment by fully utilizing the tools and parts provided by SFS; the ability to read and understand schematic drawings; dexterity and mechanical skills sufficient to repair tools; and the organizational skills to order and maintain a sufficient inventory of repair parts and rebuilt tools.
Handling and delivering merchandise, which requires physical strength sufficient to raise, lower and transport merchandise weighing in excess of 40 pounds with the assistance of dolly’s and forklifts; sufficient mobility to transport merchandise between delivery vehicle, storage shelves, service desk, sales counter and customers’ vehicle.

Effective warehouse management, which requires self motivation to perform the varied task of sales, service and assistance to salesman in taking orders and assisting with truck stock; preventative maintenance of warehouse heat and air conditioning and cleaning and maintaining warehouse reception area, rest room, coffee pot, water cooler, etc; organizational ability to order and control merchandise inventory so that sufficient merchandise inventory is maintained for the smooth operation of the warehouse;

Will report to Area Branch Manager and Operations Branch Manager.

Position pay range starts in the $32,000 to $36,000. Branch Managers are eligible for spiffs and bonuses throughout the year.

Requirements:
- Bi-lingual (English/Spanish)
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred but can be substituted with work history.
- Clean, neat appearance.
- Punctuality in attendance
- Personal integrity and honesty
- Must have computer knowledge, with the ability to use e-mail and computer processes associated with the job (will receive training on our software)
- Must have good, clean driving record
- Must have stable work history
- Must be healthy and free of past back injuries
- Physical strength to lift and carry merchandise with assistance of dolly’s & forklifts.
- Must be able to drive a forklift
- Possess mechanical skills required to repair tools
- Previous retail experience a plus, but not required
- Ability to handle customer complaints and to assist salesman with trouble shooting advice.
- Organizational ability to control inventory of merchandise and order merchandise to warehouse
- Outgoing personality and understanding true customer service is a must
- Must be a self starter — procrastinators need not apply.
- Must be willing to submit to a drug test
- Will have driving record checked.
- Will have a 90 day probation period.
