Our client who is a reputable Energy company located in downtown Baltimore is currently seeking a Web Designer/Developer to join their dynamic team for a 6 month contract to start, which will turn into a permanent opportunity.

Job Description/Overview (include daily job responsibilities and additional project & role information):
Our client maintains several Internet and Intranet sites. Our client uses Vignette content management and portal software to manage and deploy content. Our client has several Customer Self Serve (CSS) projects in progress to increase transactional services available online. Other Internet sites and the client's Intranet site are currently managed using Dreamweaver CS3. Our client needs a resource to supplement day-to-day activities (content updates and site maintenance) for all sites and development of CSS initiatives.
DUTIES:
- Manage and execute all aspects of website development and maintenance, including:
o Designing information architecture and web page functionality
o Applying principles of graphic design, e-commerce, and marketing
o Developing content concepts
o Writing and editing
o Coordinating with vendors and suppliers
- Work with e-commerce teams to integrate business / e-commerce strategies into websites.
- New site / service development, including:
o Requirements gathering, including assisting with customer focus groups (preparing demonstration materials etc.)
o Creating functional site prototypes
o Coordinating usability tests (including task development, preparation of materials, recording results etc.)
- Consult with Information Technology developers (internal and external) on web technologies and help ensure understanding of business / functional requirements.
- Work with external vendors to design, test and produce web sites and services, including design and technology enhancements, and ensure understanding of requirements.
- Perform quality control and review at all stages of web site production with client and web team to ensure final product meets internal quality standards, technical quality standards, and user / client satisfaction.
- Assist with developing standards and procedures as required, including development of user documentation and training materials.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline with five years work experience (at least 2 years experience managing web projects and / or developing websites) or the equivalent combination of formal education / training / experience.
- Working knowledge of XHTML and CSS.
- Working knowledge of Adobe CS3 (including Dreamweaver, Photoshop and Flash).
- Familiarity with system-development life cycle.
- Familiarity with usability testing concepts and methods.
- Excellent analysis and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, objectives, and deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate on projects as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, including strong writing and editing skills.
- Demonstrated self-starter with ability to exercise good judgment and act with minimum direction.
- Skilled with Microsoft Office including Outlook.

- Working knowledge of Vignette Content Management V7 (including reporting tools), Vignette Portal 7.0, and Vignette Application Builder 7.0
- Working knowledge of WebTrends Analytics 8
