Job Listing: AS400 RPG Developer

TEKsystems is currently seeking an experienced AS400 RPG Programmer to join their team in Columbus, IN on a 6 month contract engagement. Our client has a large internal project coming up that will pull some of the internal developers away and they need someone to step in to handle the ongoing maintenance and support of their existing Manufacturing System. Candidate will be supporting the Toyota Manufacturing Production System and will be responsible for ongoing code changes, enhancements, fixes, etc. Must have strong comfort supporting an AS400 RPG environment such that they will be able to understand business requirements and make necessary code changes on the fly with minimal or no supervision.

Candidate must have proven AS400 RPG development experience, CL (Control Language--this is a scripting language for AS400). Ideal candidate will have said experience supporting manufacturing systems (such as Mapics or other systems). All development is stick built so they won't be using a code generator or anything. Any EDI experience is preferred as well (such as Sterling Gentran and Connect: Direct).

Position is estimated for 6 months. Manager is working on Funding approval as we speak; however, things are moving fast and they would like to get resumes and interviews started in the near term. Prefer personal interviews on site with Dale and team but may consider phone interview for the right candidate.
