Aerotek's client located in Frederick, MD is looking for a candidate who will be responsible for the following:
- Examine using light microscopy, histological specimens stained by hematoxylin and eosin, special histochemical stains, immunohistochemistry, and in situ hybridization.
- Detect and interpret abnormal histopathological changes in examined specimens and document these findings.
- Supplement histomorphologic diagnoses with other methods such as the use of data tables, photomicroscopy, image analysis or additional means.
- Analyze study information including clinical and clinicopathological data, gross necropsy findings, molecular pathology data and ultrastructural tissue and cellular changes as necessary to ensure the accurate and complete interpretation of histopathological findings.
- Prepare concise, accurate and informative individual case reports and summary pathology reports incorporating histomorphological data, additional pathology data and related study information.
- Provide directly to principal investigators photomicrographs or other ancillary pathology information not contained in case or summary pathology reports as required to support the PI’s needs.
Requirements
Must be certified by the American College of Veterinary Pathology
Must have demonstrated proficiency in the histopathologic analysis of tissues of various laboratory animals.
Experience in a BSL 2/3 lab is a must

Rate: $40,000 to $45,000 per Year
