Job Listing: Data Center Operator

TEKsystems is offering 2 Data Center Operator positions for a 6 month contract with the possibility of going long term. The operators are the first line of defense for incident, availability and problem. They need to address any alerts, and if they can not resolve the issue, normal problem escalation procedures are followed to ensure the issue is addressed in a timely manner. At times this does include the operators contacting and working with 3rd party vendors.

List of activities:
- Validate and monitor all LPARs (logical partition) to ensure they are running at normal levels
- Validate and monitor all media devices to ensure they are online to the appropriate systems
- Validate and monitor all Started tasks are in the appropriate state throughout the night. Ensure they are brought down at the
appropriate times
- Monitor database to ensure Business systems are available and the Configuration Items area available as scheduled.
- If problems occur with the automated tape library perform initial assessment, attempt to resolve, analyze the impact on tape
dependent activity to determine severity levels and notify appropriate staff or vendors to resolve or inform.
