Responsible for oversight of all 1st and 2nd shift technicians. Ensure that the deliverables of these shifts are in line with expectations of the management staff. Responsible for coaching and coordinating all resources to service the workload assigned to the team. Monitors and reports performance and specific work delays to the Director of Repair. Proposes productivity and process improvements for the Team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Ensures that the continuous flow model of each cell is achieved to facilitate and expedite repairs and retrofits as required.
2. Coordinates with the other Supervisors to ensure maximum productivity is delivered.
3. Interfaces with Customer Service, Quality, Engineering and Materials departments as required.
4. Ensures preparation and distribution of the daily repair status report and ensures each cell delivers the required output on a daily/weekly/monthly/annually basis.
5. Routinely meets with the Director of Repair to provide updates on work stoppages, repair priorities, team backlog and any other general department issues.
6. Ensures all work is carried out in accordance with FAA, IPM and ISO procedures.
7. Serves as back-up to Final Inspector’s.
8. Coordinates on a regular basis with the Supply Chain team to provision for materials required to support the repair flow and retrofits.
9. Implementation of Lean Practices including 5S and ensuring continuous improvement to deliver improved performance.
10. Develops or coordinates or recommends production tools that are designed to improve the efficiency of the repair process and/or assist the supporting departments.
11. Identify and coordinate manpower and training requirements to support retrofit programs, employee turnover, productivity gains, repair spikes and PTO scheduling.
12. Ensure the distribution of parts for repair orders to the Shop are issued timely and in accordance to procedure.
13. Understand, own, and meet the metrics assigned in each cell of responsibility, e.g. internal and external related TAT, cost, WIP, manpower loading, etc.
14. Update charts assigned to Repair Line Boards.
15. Act as a back-up to other supervisors when required.
16. Act in Repair Director role as required during his/her absences.
MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Monitors and evaluates the activities of the department employees, while providing coaching, motivation, guidance, and training to ensure operational efficiency and adherence to company policies and procedures.
2. Effectively screens, interviews and selects individuals for open positions within the department in coordination with the Training Coordinator and HR.
3. Ensures the completion and accuracy of Performance Evaluations and Timesheet’s for all department personnel.
4. Coordinates overtime to support output requirements and performance objectives.
5. Proposes productivity and process improvements to management in order to improve department’s efficiency.
6. Supports management decisions and communicates the philosophy behind decisions to department.
7. Plans and enforces utilization of PTO appropriately to ensure manpower is available to support the repair flow based on seasonality.
8. Monitors facility for unsafe conditions and reports them to Facilities Director as required.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Education/Training/Work Experience
Minimum four year business or electronics degree. Minimum of four years experience servicing avionics and/or electronics equipment. Supervisory experience strongly preferred.
Specialized Knowledge & Skills
Familiar with Analog, Digital and Electro Mechanical circuitry. Ability to work independently and as a team member. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills. Must be customer oriented. FAA Repairman’s Certificate a plus.
Type Equipment/Software Used
Expert user of Microsoft Office Suite and related software packages required. SAP experience a plus.
Work Environment/Physical Demands
General repair shop environment. Occasional travel. Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changes in job requirements.
