Job Listing: Medical Device Project Engineer

Our client is currently seeking a Project Engineer who will be responsible for various aspects from medical device and instrumentation to the design/ development. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, and results driven, while maintaining a high ethical and professional demeanor.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Project responsibility for a medical device implant, including: CAD design- preferably using SolidWorks, with input from other personnel
- Work from Conception to Launch of the product
- Assume the leadership role, dealing with various vendors during the design process (typically, firms to provide manufacturing and testing support to the instrumentation
- Provide test protocols
- Be comfortable with animal and cadaver labs during the testing phase (as needed)
- Provide rough prototypes with in-house equipment
- Minimal overnight travel is required (1-2 days/ month)

Position: Project Engineer/ Project Manager
Location: Souderton, PA
Pay: $65,000 to $80,000/ year (based solely on experience)


SKILLS REQUIRED:

- BS (at minimal), or MS (considered a plus) in an engineering field
- 4-6 years experience with SolidWorks (2008 version is used), with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Previous experience with a small startup company is preferred (50 people or less)
- Medical device design background, or device implant design experience is a strong plus (ortho experience )
- Basic knowledge of machining skills is preferred (for prototype activities)
- Management experience with various aspects of an engineering project (this is where medical device/ instrumentation experience is key)
