TEKsystems is currently seeking an experienced Solaris Administrator for a direct hire opportunity in Honolulu, HI.
****Relocation assistance will not be provided, so local candidates are highly preferred.

Position description:
This person will serve as a System Administrator supporting Global Command and Control Sytem (GCCS) and/or GCCS-M and/or GCCS-J . The System Administrator will perform work as Systems Administrator in the following areas:.
- Solaris system administration (9 or 10)
- Oracle 7.3, 8, 8I database installation and administration
- UNIX
- Windows 2000/2003

Assists users in using standard Joint GCCS functional applications supporting operational planning, readiness and training reporting, reconnaissance, situation awareness and exercises. Analyzes user requirements and shortfalls in Joint application software and develops software to meet user requirements on timely basis. Supports users on Windows 2000 clients accessing applications on Sun Solaris and Windows servers using Oracle database management system.

General knowledge of network administration, and troubleshooting, training, and software evaluation experience is also mandatory.

Work experience in a government facility would be highly desirable.

Good communications skills, both oral and written.
