Education:
B. S. Chemistry or M.S. Chemistry or Equivalent
Experience & Qualifications (What you must have):
Two or more years experience in an environmental laboratory setting and/or project management as well as strong talent for sales and sales skills. Extensive analytical experience in GC, GC/MS, ICP, AA and classical chemistry. Thorough knowledge and understanding of laboratory QA/QC. Effective written and oral communication skills for interfacing with clients, regulators and laboratory personnel. Working knowledge of RCRA, Title 22, CWA, RWQCB, DTSC and LACSD regulatory requirements. Strong organizational skills.
Primary Objectives & Goals:
Responsible for enhancing sales through client maintenance and Customer Satisfaction. Building and managing key account relationships. Formulate and implement sales plan to develop new businesses. Assisting client in preparation and/or definition of project requirements, communicating project specific requirements and data quality objectives to operations in a timely manner. .
Responsibilities and Duties (Specific Objectives):
- Client maintenance and mining (Visit/call/entertain clients on a regular basis, and ask for referrals or upcoming potential business within his/her company).
- Recruit new clients, research new projects, and network to locate decision-makers.
- Project oversight (Communicate project requirements to operations, and follow up progress though Project Management department).
- Provide responses to inquiries for prices, invitations to bid and prepare bid packages for requests for proposals.
- Introduce existing and potential clients to ATL services through meaningful and informative brownbag presentations.
- Provide technical support to clients with regards to EPA test methods and inquiries regarding different environmental analyses.
- Engulf the client with the feeling of accessibility to the laboratory through being responsive and constantly communicating with the client.
- Work closely with the internal team (Project Management and Operations).
- Track and report competitor’s strengths, weaknesses and pricing structure.
- Track and report trends or changes in environmental laboratory business.
- Keep up to date with relevant legislation and new methodologies.
- Prioritize client requests based on the customer’s deadlines, the required effort, and the relative importance of the request to the laboratory’s success.
- Provide proactive customer service. This includes promptly advising customers of quality or TAT problems.
- Interacts closely with laboratory staff to maintain accurate status of work in progress.
- Maintaining detailed knowledge of the company's products.
