An Aerotek client in Salt Lake County is seeking a Project Engineer to handle all aspects of the sold orders for their respected product line. As such this individual is the customer’s main contact of the assigned projects. Major responsibilities will include direct communication with the customer, developing and maintaining the critical path schedule, interfacing with other departments to complete scheduled tasks on time, prioritizing others work in order to meet desired goals, reviewing project documentation, forecast project complete dates as well as forecasting the financial outcome of the project. Tasks may be accomplished personally or through subordinates (no more than 6 people).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
1. Review of all applicable job data, including P.O.’s, Project Plans and Specs, etc. provide comments when applicable.
2. Schedule and conduct Project Review meeting; focus on scope of supply, cost, construction and project scheduling.
3. Communicate with other departments in order to maintain schedule with regards to purchasing, fabrication, construction, inspection, start-up, etc.
4. Adheres to all company and corporate policies and advises management on project status.
5. Responsible for providing prompt feed back to customer regarding project schedule and any issues that may arise during the execution of a project
6. Responsible for timely execution of all assigned projects. Maybe responsible for the work of no more than 6 individuals (engineering staff).
7. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
8. Other duties may be assigned as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree in Mechanical/Civil Engineering from an accredited University, a minimum of 6 years post graduate working as an engineer with the last 3 years working as a Project Engineer/Project Manager. Must have experience in project management, involving multiple projects, preferably from the construction industry. Must have some design experience, either structure or heavy equipment (machine). Must have knowledge of AutoCAD and some experience using a 3D modeling software. Knowledge of water and waste water equipment a plus. Knowledge of MS office products including MS project
