Job Listing: Lead Developer

Our client is a company that develops networking management software products located in Austin, Texas. They are looking for a permanent resource to join their team.

The Lead Developer is responsible for providing the technical direction for a product and for leading the team of developers that build the software. This position requires strong design, coding, and project management skills.

Responsibilities:
- Work with the Product Manager to determine the viability of ideas for new product features
- Lead the architecture and design of the new features
- Create design documents from requirements
- Provide technical oversight of the development team's work
- Generate and own the development schedule
- Use industry standard development methods for source control, feature design, time estimation, and problem tracking

Required Skills:
- BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience designing, developing, and shipping commercial software
- 2+ years of experience leading a development team
- Strong command of C# and the .NET Framework
- Must be self-motivated and able to work with little definition and supervision, and within a team
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong problem solving and debugging skills
- Demonstrated creativity and intelligent thinking

Desired Skills:
- Programming experience with SNMP, TCP/IP, and sockets
- Networking knowledge and experience
- Experience with offshore development teams
- Web development with C#/ASP.NET
