Job Listing: DB2 DBA

TEKsystems has partnered with a client in the Cincinnati, OH area for a direct placement opportunity.

GENERAL FUNCTION:

Provides leadership and direction to multiple teams on projects with a high level of complexity. Directs cross-functional project teams during the development and implementation of major initiatives.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Ensures project completion on time and within budget.

2. Develops and manages both long- and short-term goals for staff.

3. Develops processes and procedures to implement functional strategies. Creates and enforces policies and standards.

4. Evaluates and mitigates project risks. Manages project issues and project documentation.

5. Acts as primary liaison with vendors and senior management. Develops relationships with key internal/external customers to identify emerging needs.

6. Anticipates business issues to align operational priorities.

7. Has in-depth expertise in own discipline and knowledge of the related disciplines.

8. Manages resources to ensure financial objectives are met within own area.

9. Resolves complex problems that have implications beyond own area.

10. Other duties as required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include career development and coaching, performance management, and pay determination and communication.


MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Requires 5-7 years or prior management/leadership experience and 6-8 years of technical expertise. Undergraduate or advanced degree preferred.

DB2 DBA skills (Utility execution; Distributed Data Facility; DB2 Connect; DB2 System Catalog; DB2 Program preparation) is required.

DB2 Omegamon XE (Application Traces)
Strong Project Management experience is required.
Experience in a 24x7 OLTP environment is required.
Experience with Data Warehousing and Star Schema desired.
