Job Listing: VMware/SAN Senior Network Administrator

Local client is seeking a Senior Network Adminsitrator that has been in an enterprise environment as the last point of contact. They need an extremely experienced and technical consultant.


The client is a windows shop. All the applications at the client run on windows 2003. The environment consists of Physical & Virtual servers with a Netapp SAN. All major applications run on physical cluster servers with N-tier architecture. The remaining applications depending on the usage run on virtual servers.

Below are the skills required with the Wintel Team:

- Extensive Windows 2000/2003 server experience.
- Microsoft Exchange 2003 experience.
- Experience with Microsoft clusters.
- Experience with setting up servers with N-tier architecture.
- Microsoft SQL experience.
- Netapp SAN experience
- Experience with BMC Remedy, NetIQ DRA.
- Experience with Vmware ESX 3.0, VMWare Converter
- Microsoft Share point 2007
- Microsoft NT file security.


Day to Day duties These tasks could be anything from production server disaster recovery to granting users permissions on servers/applications

1.Monitor BMC Remedy IT Service Management and perform tasks as assigned to supported groups.
2.Create public folders, electronic resources and support related messaging tasks
3.Create security groups and distribution lists using NetIQ DRA & AD Tools.
4.Deploy new cluster and load balancing solutions for high availability
5.Perform application upgrades as necessary
6.Create new Sharepoint sites and assign group permissions
7.Create/Manage Virtual Servers
8.Work with application owners and resolve any application/servers issues
9.Support an infrastructure of 350+ physical & virtual servers running windows 2003
