Job Description:
Responsible for providing engineering support for the research, development, and operations activities for medical device development and manufacturing. Providing CAD design/detail support for design control activities for R&D and manufacturing.
Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for Pro-E modeling
- Component and assembly drawings for use in respiratory medical device
- modification to existing products
- Provides design and drafting support to engineering staff consisting of both mechanical and electrical engineers
- Work with vendors on tooling and part quotes, model submission, management of tool and sample schedule and part approval
- Generates and manages design and part change submissions (engineering change orders and temporary deviations)
- Prepares drawings for manufacturing
- Provides input and support to production fixture design and procurement
- Coordinates tooling quotes and part approval with tooling vendors
- Makes recommendations to engineering regarding product design as it relates to tooling or manufacturability
- Designs, develops, and/or specifies and selects materials and components for use in respiratory medical device
- Creates drawings, documentation and specifications for new products as well as maintenance of documentation for existing products.
- Other duties and responsibilities as directed
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to use a computer and produce a variety of documents
- Strong attention to details in developing accurate drawings and models
- Ability to communicate well with Junior and Senior Engineers and Managers
- Ability to carry drawings through the complete release documentation process
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Knowledge, Experience and Education Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years experience in detail designing and releasing of ProE drawings
- Minimum of 2 years experience with composite material design/drafting norms
- Knowledge of drawing release process and change documentation process
- Drafting and Design Certification
