Job Listing: Sr. Engineer – Telecommunications
Position Summary:
Directs and Controls Efforts/Resources to Help Drive the Following:
Provide Operational Support to Cisco PBX and related systems, Development of Telecom Standards, and Assist in Product and Vendor Evaluation/Selection/Installation/and support of the Following Technologies:PBX/ACD, IVR, ACD, Call Routing, Call Recording, CTI, Call Center Reporting.
Leading Major Telecom Projects that Implement the above mentioned Telecom Technologies for Comcast Administrative sites and assist Divisions when needed.
Providing daily monitoring, trouble shooting, and support of major CISCO IPT and IPCC implementations at Comcast Administrative Sites such as West Chester Data Center, Southern New Jersey locations, Downingtown, and others that are utilizing Cisco PBX technology.
Provide technical expertise and leadership in design, testing, implementation, and support of Cisco PBX technology for Corporate Initiatives. Assist Field locations where needed.
Provides System Traffic engineering and physical connectivity to the network and other sites. Uses technologies such as analog and digital circuits, VOIP, SIP, and Voice Self Supply to connect Comcast sites to the network and each other.
Assists in designing critical corporate telecom initiatives such as number plan, E911, voice self supply, and others.
Working with Front Line and Senior Management (Divisions and Corporate Groups) to Achieve these Goals
Duties/Responsibilities:
Provides daily support to Cisco IPT implementations at West Chester, South Jersey, Downingtown and others. Insures proper traffic engineering and connectivity. Provides leadership to junior staff at these sites. Provide reporting of system and network performance and capacity needs.
Support key corporate initiatives such as dial plan, E911, system/network documentation, Voice Self Supply, and others that occur. Provide technical expertise and leadership in design and implementation of these key initiatives. IE for Voice Self Supply: Provide leadership of Cisco PBX technology in working with NETO, CDV, and Division engineers to test, evaluate, implement and support PBX related systems interfacing to the Comcast Network infrastructure.
Provide technical expertise and leadership in evaluation of Telecom vendors and technology for creation of standards. Work to support field locations where needed in design and implementation of these technologies in efforts to reduce time to market and costs.
Monitor system performance, trouble shoot outages, and manage vendor to insure optimal system performance.
Ensures proper staffing/training levels and scheduling of resources are in place to provide technical support on an as needed basis. Establishes and monitors standard operating procedures within the department and ensures adherence to all corporate objectives

Required Skills
Education:
Technical or Business degree, or equivalent experience
Experience:
Minimum of 10 - 15 years of professional experience in evaluation, implementation, and support of PBX/Call Center with specific experience in Cisco Telecom and Call Center systems in a large enterprise environment.
