Job Listing: Process Safety Engineer/Consultant

Position Responsibilities:
- Conduct risk management and process safety training where required to clients.
- Provide process safety management (PSM) consulting expertise to clients.
- Co-ordinate, perform and facilitate a range of safety studies including process safety reviews, PHA (e.g. HAZOPs), and Safety Integrity Level (SIL) determination (e.g. LOPA) for clients.
- Develop methodologies in the area of process safety in conjunction with the Director of Process Safety Engineering.
- Provide engineering “know how” direction towards enhancing PSM best practices.
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of process safety engineering and PSM standards.
- Act as a mentor to junior engineers and facilitate their growth in process safety engineering.
- Works closely with sales to close new business.

Qualifications:
- Degree qualification in Chemical Engineering and P.Eng. designation.
- Minimum of 7 years + experience in a chemical manufacturing environment, with exposure to batch and continuous processes, and use of hazardous materials highly desired.
- Thorough understanding of PSM regulations and applications.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing and conducting PHA’s. Preference will be given to candidates with QRA experience.
- Extensive experience and detailed understanding in PHA methodology, particularly HAZOP.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. This position will be interacting at all levels of an organization.
- Strong consulting and problem solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Must be able to travel as required, typically 50%-75% of total work time.
