TEKsystems has partnered with a great company in Omaha, NE to provide them with candidates for a SAN Administrator position they currently have available. This company has an IMD division looking for a full-time Storage Administrator to sit in their Omaha Disaster & Recovery facility. This employee will be a part of the Newport Beach team but will sit in Omaha. They will be one of two employees is the Omaha office, the other is a Network Engineer.
Duties: Provide technical support and assistance to support virtually all aspects of the Enterprise Storage environment to satisfy Division requirements and expectations. Support currently includes, but is not limited to managing the installed EMC storage environments, (DMX, Celerra, Centera) and Storage Area Network (fiber switches, cabling, etc.) in all Data Center locations. Utilize storage management software products, EMC Control Center, Storage Scope, SRDF, Timefinder to allocate and maintain storage requirement for all Divisions. Provide day-to-day storage functions (allocating/deallocating storage, configuring zones and storage network). Assist with DR related efforts including preparation and DR testing. Perform /coordinate installation and upgrades of vendor provided software, monitor performance and reliability to ensure optimal performance and minimal interruptions in service.
Skills (must have): Minimum of 3-4 years as a Systems or Storage Administrator or equivalent experience. Experience with EMC storage systems and utilities, server hardware and peripherals, storage networks (Brocade), cabling. Must be proficient in the use of desktops and desktop software. Must have EMC control center, SRDF, and Timefinder. Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work alone.
This is a Fortune 500 company. This person will be working alone so they will be their own "boss”.
