Translations Engineer



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



Maintain switch integrity through performance of the following software translations:



· Implementation of all complex call routing database changes.

· Local Number Portability (LNP).

· Building customer specific dialing plans.

· 8YY routing.

· Adjusting routing during outages.

· Build script files to assist in translations work.

· Perform AMA capture to ensure accurate billing/routing.

· Perform Translation trouble analysis; resolve and assist with translations issues that are beyond normal scenarios.

· Documentation of all network routing configurations.

· Troubleshoot and repair any complex translations and feature issues.

· Least Cost routing implementation.

· DxD analysis in Lucent 5ESS and ECP/AP (MMC) complex.

· Act as technical support for other departments.

· UNIX administration, UNIX scripting support.

· OMP Administration support, User Accounts, Scripts, Security.



Requirements Minimum Position Requirements:



Understanding of Telecordia principles with regards to code administration
Knowledge of local LEC routing & interconnect in Tandem 2A and 2B offices
Associate Degree in related field or equivalent related experience/education.
2 years of related experience in the wireless telecommunications industry.
· Ability to use LERG.

· MS Access, C++ and MYSQL are a plus.
