Job Listing: Electrical Designer (Architecture)

A growing HVAC/MEP company in the Oakland area is looking for an electrical engineer/ electrical designer to add to their team. The company specialized in full service architectural and engineering design and work with a large array of commercial projects.


The electrical engineer/ electrical designer will have about 3-7 years of professional working experience in the field, as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and an EIT Certification, or California PE license. The engineer/ designer will be proficient in AutoCAD, have electrical experience pertaining to electrical power and lighting design. The individual should have knowledge of building codes as well as title 24, lighting design capability and proper feeder calculations.

Requirements include:

- Specification and design of 480V power distribution systems including single-line diagrams, switchboards, panel boards, transformers, emergency and standby generation systems, feeders, branch circuitry, and motor control centers using AutoCAD.

- Three-phase and single-phase electrical load and voltage drop calculations.

- Short circuit analyses, protective device coordination studies, and arc-flash hazard analyses using SKM Power Tools for Windows software.

- Specification and design of lighting systems including lighting fixture selection, lamp selection, switching, dimming systems, egress lighting, lighting controls, and interior and exterior lighting photometric calculations.
