Mechanical Engineer

Summary:

Provide expertise in the mechanical engineering of Non-Destructive Test equipment in all aspects. Lead in the design, development, documentation and sustainment of precision electro-mechanical assemblies and their components.

Job Responsibilities /Duties
1. Design of Ultrasonic Transducer and Eddy Current Based Probes – Contribute to new product designs and re-engineer existing products to improve their manufacturability.

2. Design of Calibration Block Standards – Application of metallurgy and knowledge of precision machining processes.

3. Fixtures and Tooling – Conceive and Design fixtures and tooling that ease manufacture and/or assembly of precision probes and electro-mechanical assemblies.

4. CAD/CAM Models – Create 3-D models for the fabrication of precision injection molds and Ultrasonic Probe standards blocks.

5. Sustainment – Maintain product mechanical documentation and provide parts, products and assembly process improvements.


Education and Skill Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering minimum and five years professional experience in related roles.
Experience in the design and development of precision assemblies, injection molded plastic parts and precision machined parts required.
Precision Machining Background a definite plus
