Job Summary for the Quality Engineer II Position:
In a team-oriented environment, the Quality Engineer II performs all tasks in a timely and efficient manner, to support the Inspection/Quality System, ensuring that all aspects of the delivered/finished article:
Are manufactured in accordance with approved Quality System requirements.
Are certified as compliant with Type Design requirements and/or compliant with in-service limitations for Repair Station activities.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
Manage compliance of the suppliers' or Company facilities' Quality activities through the application of system, product and process audits to the FAA-approved data requirements.
Certify or assess a supplier's Quality System, personnel, processes and equipment, as required, according to the applicable Quality standards.
Perform surveillance, source inspections, and first article inspections at suppliers' foreign or domestic facilities, and/or monitor the inspection system performance throughout all Company Operations, Materials and Repair Stations.
Coordinate Quality Assurance program plans.
Monitor and modify audit schedules.
Evaluate Acceptance Test programs and Company suppliers' or facilities' Quality Engineering requirements, and review to ensure program effectiveness and integrity.
Witness and validate acceptance, qualification, interchangeability, configuration and compatibility tests.
Provide Company liaison support for supplier and/or facility.
Additional Functions:
Conduct product, system and/or process failure investigations.
Provide technical assistance in resolution of Quality problems.
Verify that required corrective action implementation is timely and effective.
Perform Trend Analysis of audit results in order to identify Quality System deficiencies.

Required Skills
Required Skills for this Quality Engineer II position include the following:
Experience/Education Required:
Six (6) years of related technical experience, of continually increasing responsibility
Four (4) years of experience specific to the appropriate Quality department
BA degree in a related curriculum and/or equivalent experience/education/certification
Must understand and be able to clearly communicate the following to others:
Blueprints/Specs
FAA Regulations
QC System Requisitions
Computer literate
ASQ Certification as Quality Engineer and/or Quality Auditor preferred
Unique Skills:
The successful candidate will be responsible for review and approval of the Build Documentation and the Design Engineering of 3D models.
This person will also have other Quality responsibilities related to the approval/investigation of these items.
Experience with all facets of Manufacturing, as well as inspection and installations of aircraft assemblies, is required.
Applicant must be fully versed in the application and use of:
ASME Y14.5 – 1994
Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Ability to use CATIA V5 is required, and Enovia LCA is preferred.
