Job Listing: Java Developer

We are currently building a unique online transactional website in the construction building industry from the ground up. This site will eventually become a front end to our legacy AS400 and DB2 database for both customers and internal staff. The site will perform many tasks, among these are accepting online applications, display account status and alerts, generate reports, account management, portals based off user role, and uploading/downloading documents. Most of the site will be driven using an in-house enterprise class workflow engine that ties into the backend legacy server’s data.

You will be helping in this blank slate effort by writing Java code (J2EE) that will connect the legacy system and workflow engine together. Equally important you will have a hand in designing and building the web user interface our customers will use. This will require a working knowledge of EJB 3.0 including the Java Persistence API, Java Server Faces, JavaScript, HTML, and web services. The site will implement many business rules (many- currently manual) into automated tasks with little or no user intervention. This will require you to have a good grasp of implementing complex/abstract concepts into working code. Additionally you will help test the code and develop unit test plans and documentation working closely with our quality assurance team. In general you will get to participate in the full software development lifecycle including project planning, design, implementation, test, documentation, and deployment.

Required Skills

Minimum of 3 Years experience coding Java
Experience with the following JSF, JPA, SQL, Axis, and EJB 3.0
Familiar with Java 1.5 features such as Generics, and Annotations
Must have worked with databases like SQL Server, Oracle and DB2
Familiar with HTML, CSS, XML, JavaScript and AJAX
Productive with the Eclipse IDE in Linux or Windows
Knowledge JUnit, Maven, Subversion, and Log4j
A Four Year Degree in Computer Science or similar discipline

Highly Desirable:
Oracle Application Server (OC4J 10g) Oracle Database 10g
JavaScript libraries (dojo, YUI, ExtJS)
Web Authentication and Authorization
JAAS, SOAP
Apache POI project and iText
Ability to implement manual processes into working efficient code; work closely with end users; fulfill requirements and meet required deadlines.
